Information Avantasia bootleg Shinagawa Stellar Ball, Tokyo, Japan 2013

Audience recording.

Catalogue number: DF-097.

Official statement from the label:

We used the 24bit original master label its own metal opera project by prodigy Tobias Sammet in July 2013, took place one night only in Tokyo, the Japan tour at the Shinagawa Prince Stellar Ball. The complete recording over about two and a half hours at best sound you have. It was a situation PA of the day is not good, but subjected to digital remastering by 24bit96khz using the equipment of professional use to the sound that is recorded, in the sound quality direct and compelling, from the sound of the day I am finished to impeccable sound is incredible.

This recording includes the rare version of 'Avantasia' sang only by Michael Kiske because Tobias got the flu in Canada, a few performances before Japan. Also with the vocalist of famous American band Mr. Big, the vocalist of hard rock legend Magnum Bob Catley, Ronnie Atkins of Pretty Maids.

The hotel serves a superb sound great live performance of this one night only show.

Quality 1-10

9/10 (balanced mix)

Comments about the bootleg

Another very good audience recording like usual in Japan. There is not distortion. The mix is balanced, there are not instruments on high level.

The rarity of this bootleg talking about the setlist is 'Avantasia' song because Michael sang that track alone without Tobias who still was ill. Michael confused two lines in the lyrics but the sound sounded nice. Playing in Japan it was really strange they didn't play 'Shelter From The Rain' since Japanese love those fast tracks but  Tobias was not in good shape so it was an easy choice.

The differences between source 1 & source 2 are that the source 1 is more focused in the vocals, the source 2 have a better mix balance, you can hear all instruments more or less at the same level, in the source 1 the high level are the vocals and the drums (that's why is my favourite), and probably it sounds a little clearer.
